Samantha Mohr
Mohr was one of the UGA student who entered her first pageant when she was suggested by a friend. She won Miss Columbus 1985. In the wake of this victory, she became eligible for her place in the Miss Georgia pageant which was scheduled for June 1985. Mohr won the contest on Saturday, June 22, 1985. She earned more than $3,500 in scholarship funds and various prizes from the state pageant. Mohr was Miss Georgia as well as made public appearances all over Georgia as part of her duties. Mohr was Georgia's official at the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the end of September in 1985. Mohr was able to determine his prediction that Susan Akin would win Miss America through computer-generated modeling. His chances of winning were 22:1. Mohr did not make the Top 10 finalist for the title of Miss America. Mohr had been Miss Georgia for a total of 10 years. She resigned in Marlesa Bal, her successor in the title, was named Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28 June, 1986.
